Yes, I know. It’s too early to talk about the year 2025 when we still have days until 2024 is officially over.
Even I find it early to talk about my plan for the year 2025 since I tend to do it a week or perhaps a few days before the year ends.
But with me cutting back on blogging, there’s no better time for me to talk about my 2025 plans than now.
It’ll be too late for me to talk about it once January arrives.
If we want to discuss things related to our goals for the next year, then it’s more impactful to do so in December, no?
Not going to lie I do welcome 2025 with an open arm.
Well, it can be because it’s a new year and it feels like you’re starting with a clean slate.
But it can also be because I’m not doing so well in 2024.
If that’s how you feel about 2024, you’re not alone.
My year 2024 in a nutshell
Every year in December, it’s customary for me to share my plans for the year on my blog.
Just to let you know I always write my goals for that year in my bullet journal, per recommendation from Terri Savelle Foy’s Vision Board course.
But funnily enough, it feels different when you have your plans for that year out in the open.
To be honest, I’m not sure why I want people to know about my plans for the year.
Does it have something to do with me wanting to hold myself accountable? Or does it have something to do with me using the blog as my scorecard?
Well, it could be both. And I have no issue with that in which I outlined everything I planned to do in 2024 in this blog post.
So, how does my 2024 turn out in the end?
Did I manage to achieve all the things I plan to do for the year?
Sad to say, I only managed to achieve one thing which is revamping the email marketing strategy for this blog and also for the fiction side of things.
Not only that I made a switch to using MailPoet. But I’m also proud of how consistent I am with connecting with my readers ever since the revamp.
That’s the only thing I managed to achieve in 2024.
My plans for the year 2025
As you can already expect, I will still be doing the same things I didn’t get to do in 2024 in 2025.
But I also have new plans among the new ones as well.
You have no idea how excited I am that I finally get to share them with you since I’ve been working on them over the last few months.
Publish Self-Publishing 101 Blueprint
Yes, this is the one I’ve been dying to tell you about – I’ll be publishing a book about self-publishing.
What makes this one different is that it covers other parts of self-publishing that are equally important such as book marketing and building your author platform.
Of course, everything that I share in this book is based on my own processes and experiences.
If you’re looking for a self-publishing book that covers all aspects of the author business, then you may want to have a look at this book.
To be honest, I don’t have the exact release date for the book since I still have a long way to go.
But all I can say is please look forward to my announcement about this book either through this blog or an email.
Create products based on the book
Well, it shouldn’t come as a surprise there will be products based on the book in the pipeline, right?
To be honest, I don’t have any other products planned for the book other than a workbook for now.
Even if I manage to spin the same book into multiple products, I’ll save them for my plan for the next year.
I doubt I can squeeze any more products into the pipeline when I already have a lot of things going on for this year.
Publish a box set, hardback, and large print editions for all of my books
Yes, publishing a box set, hardback, and large print editions for all of my books is still on the card.
And it’s not just for the fiction side of things. I even thought about doing the same thing for Self-Publishing 101 Blueprint as well.
It’s no wonder why 2025 will be a busy year considering that I’ll be releasing my books in many different formats this year.
Okay, except for the audiobooks since I doubt I can squeeze the audiobook production into my already busy schedule.
Once again, I’ll save that for my plan for the next year if I manage to get all of them done this year.
Distribute my books to Google Play and the library system
From the technical standpoint, my books should already be in the library system now that all of my books published on Smashwords have been safely migrated to Draft2Digital.
Not sure how it works once you have your books uploaded on Draft2Digital.
But I do plan to look into it after I already published the brand new edition of my Trigger Locked series.
The same goes for distributing my books to Google Play.
While I’m a big proponent of using distributors such as Draft2Digital and PublishDrive to save time, this is another platform that I encourage you to go direct.
From what I understand, Google wants you to go directly with them as opposed to using a distributor.
Well, I could be wrong about that.
Even if that’s not the case, I still prefer to go direct with Google Play which I hope I get to do this year.
Migrate the online store to WooCommerce
I love Payhip because of how simple and quick the setup process is.
But it can also feel like there’s a disconnection between my website and the online store, making it harder for me to convince people to buy my books directly from me.
Thus, my decision to migrate to WooCommerce since the whole sales process happens in one place.
So, no more having to redirect the readers to a different website just to get them to buy directly from me.
Unlike Payhip, there’s no doubt migrating to WooCommerce will be a walk in the park.
And it can take a long time to get everything up and running too.
But I’m willing to go through it for the sake of my direct sales’ long-term success.
The blog will undergo changes as well
Apart from changing the blogging schedule to bi-monthly, I’m also thinking about reorganizing my blog posts according to how I do things in Self-Publishing 101 Blueprint.
Sure, it may only be minor changes.
But if it can help with people navigating the blog easily, all’s the better.
That’s my aim with this blog.
Please look forward to it
With so many things planned for 2025, you can bet that I have a lot of things to say about pretty much everything that I stumbled upon along the way.
To be honest, I can’t say for sure what’s in store for us in 2025.
But all I can say for now is to please look forward to it.
May the year 2025 be the best year for all of us.
