What will be my year 2024 goals now that we’re only a few days away from 2024 is right here upon us?
If you’ve been reading my blog long enough, then you can guess what my year 2024 goals will be like considering that I’ve been talking about some of them countless times.
Fret not if you have no clue about all the things that I plan to do in 2024.
I will list them all here as a way for me to keep track of my plan for 2024.
But before that, let’s have a look at how 2023 turns out for me.
My year 2023 goals in a nutshell
As you can see here, I do have a dedicated post similar to this one that outlines all the things that I plan to do in that year.
You can read this post right here if you’re interested.
With that said, how do my goals turn out in the end?
Did I manage to achieve every single one of them?
Sad to say, I didn’t achieve most of them.
The only thing I managed to achieve was revamping The Efficient You by changing the web copy and redoing the SEO for the website.
Even with that, I left the guide pages out of the makeover plan since I was thinking about updating these guides later.
If you’ve been keeping a pulse on publishing-related news, then I’m sure you can tell how rapid these changes are.
Yes, the fundamentals remain the same. But some of them are taking a different turn thanks to these new tools.
Sad to say, I thought I would have the time to update these guides with brand-new processes and tools.
But with so many of my goals taking a huge chunk of my time, the guides ended up on a backburner instead.
Of course, I do have a plan to update these guides in 2024. And I’m planning to do something with them too, not just update them with new information and tools.
So, stay tuned for an update on this one.
My year 2024 goals
I admit that my year 2024 goals aren’t that much different from the one I had for 2023.
Well, except for this one goal since I never expected I would get back to it after such a long time.
With that said, here are the things that I plan to do in 2024.
Revamp my email marketing strategy for The Efficient You and my fiction side of things
Well, this is expected considering how much I’ve been banging the drum on having your own email list.
With me who is no longer active on social media, I can now put all of my time and effort into building and growing my email list.
As of writing, I don’t have a concrete plan on how to build and grow my email list yet.
Heck, I don’t even know what apps or platforms I’ll be using to do the job.
This is something that I plan to explore at the beginning of this year.
So, keep your eyes glued on the changes that I will make to my list-building strategy and which tools I’ll be using to do just that.
Distribute books to Google Play, StreetLib, and Draft2Digital for library pay-per-checkout and print book distribution
Yes, I’m still planning to sell my books directly to my readers.
That part of the plan isn’t going to change.
But I don’t see anything wrong with having your books available at as many places as possible either since our goal here is to reach a wide audience.
Don’t get me wrong, you can still reach a wide audience by selling directly.
But if you want to do it fast, then you can’t go wrong with having your books available at these retailers.
As you already know, this is something that I always want to do for the longest time.
So, I hope that I can make it a reality this year.
Release the box set, hardback, and large print editions for all of my books
Well, there’s no reason for me not to release my books as a box set, in hardback and large print when it’s the easiest way to have more product offerings without having to write a new book.
What’s more, it’s even easier to do it too now you can release a hardback version of your book through KDP Print.
While the process of creating a hardback isn’t that much different from creating a paperback, it can be a little tricky if you want to publish a large print edition.
For one, you need to identify which trim size to pick and what font size you should use in your interior.
Creating a large print book may not be that hard to do if you’re using a formatting tool like Vellum.
But the good news is you can still create a large print edition of your book even without Vellum thanks to this handy guide from Kindlepreneur.
There’s no doubt it will take some time for me to release the large print edition for all of my books since it’s a new format.
But I’m still hoping that I can get them done this year.
Switching to the WooCommerce store
Okay, this one may come as a shock to many of you.
Why am I making a switch to WooCommerce? Is there something wrong with Payhip that prompted me to make a switch?
Well, that seems to be the case for the most part.
But my reason for wanting to make a switch has nothing to do with Payhip being a terrible platform for me.
Rather, it has more to do with me wanting to make the sales process to be more seamless.
Does it mean that I no longer recommend Payhip anymore?
Well, far from it. I still recommend people to use Payhip because of how easy it is to get everything up and running.
Yes, Payhip does come with a limitation.
But if you want something that has more features and integrations, then your best bet is to use something like WooCommerce.
Of course, the switch won’t happen immediately since there are a few things that I need to get clarity on first.
And depending on what I discover, I may scrap the plan altogether and stick with using Payhip again.
Not going to deny that my decision to switch to WooCommerce may seem like a tentative one.
But even if I’m not making the switch this year, I still plan to use WooCommerce in the future.
As always, I’ll let you know on my blog if I ever make a switch to using WooCommerce on both of my websites.
Adding more products to the store
Well, I only have one product on The Efficient You Payhip store as I write this.
But it will be no more since the guide that I have available on my Payhip store is all about X.
With me who is no longer active on X and other social media platforms, there’s no reason for me to have this guide available for sale.
Of course, my plan to add more products will only take place once I have my WooCommerce store up and running.
Until then, what you will see on my Payhip store will be the Twitter/X guide that I will retire anytime soon.
Less goals for me this year
On the surface, most of these goals shouldn’t take that long for me to complete.
If everything is according to the plan, then I should get most of them done during the first half of the year, right?
Well, that was what I thought too at first.
But lo and behold, it didn’t turn out that way.
It was a mistake on my side that I underestimated the time it took me to complete just one goal.
Knowing that my goals for this year will revolve around many tasks, I find it best that I only set fewer goals this year.
Yes, I admit that I’m selling myself short here.
But I’m fine with it if it can give me this satisfying feeling that I managed to achieve all the goals that I set for this year.
That’s what matters to me the most.
