Small Business Deals September 2024 Blog Banner

It’s hard to believe how quickly time is passing by now that it’s time for me to write the Small Business Deals: September 2024 Edition post.

How is your progress for this year’s goal so far now September is already here?

Are you almost close to the finish line?

Or are you having a hard time achieving any of your goals since life throws a curveball at you?

As for me, I’m happy to announce that I finally start writing a new book.

What’s more, it’s nonfiction!

Will I manage to finish writing the book by the end of this year is something that I’m not sure of.

But one thing I know for sure is I’m so glad that I finally get to start writing the book since it’s been on the back burner for such a long time.

On top of that, I also have a few writing and publishing-related things I’d like to experiment with over the next couple of months.

So, keep your eyes glued to this blog for my writing and publishing experiment and results.

And if your goal for this year is to write and publish a book, then you’re going to love this month’s Small Business Deals: September 2024 Edition post.

With that said, here are some of the deals you don’t want to miss this month.

Take the guesswork out of your book research with Publisher Rocket

We all have this one big idea about the kind of book we want to write.

But we all know having a big idea isn’t enough.

We need to know if the audience for the kind of book we want to write is big enough. And we also need to know if there are similar books out there and how the sales for these books fare.

The last thing we want is for us to publish a book that nobody cares about.

Of course, it’s not that hard to get this information since we can search for the book we want to write on Amazon.

This is where we face a stumbling block – we don’t know anything beyond other books that cover the same topic, the genre, and their rankings.

This is where a tool like Publisher Rocket comes in handy.

With Publisher Rocket, you get to know how the books that cover this topic fare based on the estimated search per month and earnings.

It’s a good indicator of whether there’s a large enough audience for the sort of book you want to write or not.

Of course, you can also use Publisher Rocket to optimize your book page on Amazon and other retailers.

That was my initial reason for purchasing Publisher Rocket.

Think Publisher Rocket is something you need to make doing book research easier? You can sign up for Publisher Rocket right here:

Take your book research to the next level

I won’t deny that many people go to Amazon to find books on a specific topic.

And Publisher Rocket is a must-have tool if you need to know the sort of books people search for and buy on Amazon.

But the issue with using Publisher Rocket is that while some topics may seem like a total dud on Amazon, it may not be the case if you search for the same topic on Google.

Rather than limiting your book research to Amazon, I recommend you search for the same topic on Google as well.

And the tool that I highly recommend to make your book research much easier is none other than Ubersuggest.

What I love about Ubersuggest is that not only do you know the search volume for the said keyword.

But it also provides information on whether people will click on the link with the said keyword or not.

This is important since you want a keyword that will get people interested in your book and buy it.

Of course, you can also use Ubersuggest to optimize your website for the search engine.

You can say that it’s double-whammy software.

Unlike Publisher Rocket, Ubersuggest is free to sign up. You can sign up for the free version of Ubersuggest right here:

Build a simple author website with Namecheap’s Simple Links

You probably hear me saying for the gazillion times that you need an author website since it’s the only thing you have full control of.

But let’s be real here – creating your own website isn’t cheap. And it can feel out of reach to some due to technical difficulties.

So, what’s the solution when you’re in that situation?

Should you scrap the idea of having your own website?

Well, you may want to have a look at Simple Links.

It’s a website builder that allows you to create a one-page website to showcase your business.

In this case, you can create a one-page website to showcase your books and have a link to your landing page to build your email list.

The only downside with Simple Links is that it only allows you to add up to 12 links on your website and doesn’t have an e-commerce feature.

So, the best way to go about it is to use a selling platform like Payhip to sell directly to your readers.

Interested in giving Simple Links a try? You can sign up for the 14-day free trial right here:
