How to Make Money with Google AdSense Blog Banner

Here’s the question for you – do people still care about how to make money with Google AdSense in this day and age?

The idea of making money with Google AdSense wouldn’t be that bizarre decades ago considering how it was all in the rage back then.

Remember this picture of a woman who was holding a check, saying that Google sent her the check?

Can’t say for sure whether it was indeed a real photo or it was only a stock photo.

But the fact that many people were raking the dough with Google AdSense was a real thing.

Whether they hold a secret to raking a big fat check from Google is something that I’m not sure of.

But one thing I know for sure is there’s no magic bullet when it comes to making money with Google AdSense.

If anything, I’m sure that many of you already know the formula.

Should you even care about Google AdSense at all?

Yes, I admit there’s no reason for you to give Google AdSense the time of your day when you have something else that is far more lucrative than that.

And let’s not forget how much of a passé it is now when we have many different avenues to choose from, money-making-wise.

But here’s the good thing about Google AdSense – it doesn’t cost you anything to take part in the program.

And it’s not that hard to get started either.

All you need to do is to register with Google AdSense, add the code on your website and the ads will start running on your website in a matter of hours.

Of course, you may need to do a bit of work if you want the ads to display on certain parts of your website.

But other than that, you don’t have to do anything much after the initial setup.

The ads will be displayed on their own based on what the content is all about.

If you’re looking for another way to add more income streams that won’t take too much of your time, then it’s worth considering adding Google AdSense into the mix.

The adage on how to make money with Google AdSense

Do a quick search on how to make money with Google AdSense and you realize that the key to making money with Google AdSense is to have tons of traffic coming to your website.

On top of that, you need lots of it too.

It makes sense why you need to have a lot of traffic coming to your website. You can only make money when someone clicks on the ads.

And since the pay-per-click is rather minuscule, you need a lot of traffic just to meet the minimum payout.

Of course, having high-quality content matters too since that’s how you generate consistent traffic to your website.

Focus on creating high-quality content consistently and the traffic issue will resolve itself in the long run.

And it can also mean a bigger, fat check from Google coming your way.

Does it hold true to this day?

Now that it’s been years since then, how does the adage hold up?

Does it remain the same? Or the adage no longer applies in this day and age?

Sad to say, the adage still holds true to this day.

You still need a lot of traffic to generate income from Google AdSense. And you need high-quality content to drive the traffic.

But over the years, I realized these other factors that can make generating clicks for Google AdSense so much easier.

Just to be clear what I say here is merely speculative since they’re based on my own observation after resuming Google AdSense on my website.

But when you have these things in place, generating income from Google AdSense is no longer an uphill battle for you.

Have a domain name for your website

I probably heard someone mention before that you would have an easier time generating income from Google AdSense if you have your own website.

When they say having your own website, they’re referring to the one with its domain name and hosting.

For whatever reason, I didn’t heed the advice.

Instead of moving to WordPress and getting myself a domain name, I remained on Blogger, thinking that it would suffice to generate clicks for my Google AdSense.

It can take a while, of course. But I will eventually reach the minimum payment threshold someday.

Lo and behold, the clicks that I got were so paltry. It made me wonder if I ever met the minimum payment threshold in my lifetime.

And the worst part of all?

I had a hard time driving traffic to the website. The search engine tends to favor websites that have their own domain name more than websites that are on rented land.

It was only when I enabled Google AdSense on my fiction author website that I started making money from Google AdSense again.

And the best part of all?

It didn’t take me that long to generate around $4 a few months after I had Google AdSense running on my fiction author website.

Yes, I admit that it’s not that much.

But compared to how it took me years to generate $76 from Google AdSense, it’s still an amazing feat.

And that leads me to my next observation.

Having full control of your website optimization is the key

Creating high-quality content like clockwork won’t do you any favors at all if you have little control over optimizing the page for the search engines.

If there’s one thing that can bring you ample traffic to your website, it’s the ability to optimize every single page of your website for the search engines.

And when I say optimization, it’s not only adding those keywords in your blog post title and sprinkling a handful of them within your post.

You need to optimize the image and the post link with your chosen keyword as well.

That’s how your website can do well on the search engine.

When it comes to full website optimization, I will say nothing beats the self-hosted WordPress.

I find it easier to optimize the website for the search engine compared to other platforms.

And yes, even if you have a domain name for your website.

Will it guarantee you the success that you hope for?

You now have a self-hosted WordPress site with a domain and hosting of your own.

And you’re also consistent with creating high-quality content, making sure that you optimize the content that you create for the search engine.

Even with all these things in place, you still don’t make as much money from Google AdSense as you’d hope for.

What gives?

Is there something else missing from the formula, you wonder?

The answer is yes.

It’s the good old patience that is missing from the formula, that’s what.

Like everything else, it takes time to generate clicks, let alone meet the minimum payout.

And it’s even more so when your website is sparkling brand new.

Give it some time, do all the things you need to do and you will eventually get the $100 check from Google.

Continue to be consistent with your effort and the time it takes for you to get your next payout won’t be that long unlike the last time.

That’s the key when it comes to how to make money with Google AdSense.

See, didn’t I tell you there’s no secret when it comes to making money with Google AdSense?
