Not going to lie that using WordPress premium themes of any kind can do wonders for your author branding.

Well, it makes sense considering how easy it is to build trust with your target readers when you have a professional-looking author website.

But here’s the thing about WordPress premium themes in general.

While you don’t have to design the whole theme from scratch, it’s still not a walk in the park if you want to set up the brand new WordPress theme that you got just like the one in the demo site.

And the worst part of all?

Your website looks more or less identical to the next person who buys the same WordPress premium theme as you do.

The only difference is that this person operates in a different niche and industry. And he does a good job of customizing the theme to look a little different from yours.

But in a nutshell, it’s still the same WordPress premium theme that you got no matter how you slice it.

That’s the problem with buying ready-made WordPress premium themes.

Your website will end up looking the same.

Of course, you can use a page builder like Elementor to spruce up the theme.

But the problem with using a page builder like Elementor is that it can slow down your site loading speed.

That may not be an issue if you’re using a managed WordPress hosting like WP Engine. But it can be a total nightmare if you use shared web hosting to host your website.

So, what you should do if you want a WordPress premium theme that looks uniquely you but won’t slow down your website even when your website is on shared web hosting?

If you want a premium WordPress theme with such a capability, then look no further than the Divi theme.

It’s the WordPress premium theme that I currently use on The Efficient You and my fiction author website, Sekina Mayu.

What is the Divi theme?

You can think of the Divi theme as a WordPress premium theme and a page builder like Elementor rolled into one.

That sums up the Divi theme in general.

The way the page builder works is similar to how Elementor works too where you can create and customize the page in any way you want with no coding involved.

The result?

You’ll have a WordPress premium theme that is different from the next person who buys the same Divi theme as you.

And you can do all that without knowing any coding at all.

Heck, you don’t even need to hire a developer to customize the theme for you.

You can do all that yourself.

What makes the Divi theme better than most WordPress premium themes out there

If I have to point out what makes the Divi theme a better choice, then I will have to say it’s the ability to create as many customized layouts as possible.

While that can be heaven-sent for someone like me who already has a rough idea of how the layout for each page should be, that can be a nightmare for someone who has zero clue on how they want the website should look like.

Don’t worry if you’re in that camp.

You can opt to use the design template to get started instead.

That’s the wonder of the Divi theme since it comes with many different templates to choose from.

Just pick which template you like the most and start customizing the layout from there.

Another thing that I like about the Divi theme is that you can use the same theme on a different type of website thanks to its wide variety of modules.

Thinking about wanting to create an e-commerce website?

Well, guess what? You can use the same Divi theme on your e-commerce website too since it’s compatible with WooCommerce.

Can you do the same with other WordPress premium themes?

Unless it’s clearly stated that it’s compatible with WooCommerce, most of them aren’t.

If you need another reason to get the Divi theme, then this should be it.

What you should know about the Divi theme

At this point, you probably think that you need to switch to using the Divi theme if you want something similar to Elementor.

While that may not be a hassle if you’re starting with a clean slate, that can be a big problem if you’re changing a theme for an existing website.

We all know how messy it can be whenever we’re switching from one theme to another.

Well, here’s the good news for you.

You can use the Divi Builder instead if switching your existing WordPress theme to the Divi theme can cause some of the pages to break or malfunction altogether.

The downside?

The Divi Builder is a part of the Elegant Themes subscription.

If you only want the Divi Builder, you need to sign up with any of the Elegant Themes subscription plan to gain access to the Divi Builder.

Of course, you’ll get other things such as the Divi theme and other plugins such as Bloom and Monarch too in addition to the Divi Builder plugin.

Is the Divi theme right for you and should you get it?

If you want a premium WordPress theme that offers design flexibility with no coding and developers involved, then Divi theme is for you.

Keep in mind that the theme comes with a learning curve.

But don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of it after a few tries.

This theme is definitely not for you if you’re looking for a plug-and-play kind of WordPress theme.
